The Guardian™ 4 smart continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system presents a significant advancement in diabetes management. This innovative system features a new transmitter and sensor, eliminating the need for fingersticks to obtain sensor glucose readings.*

Upon application to the skin, the Guardian 4 CGM utilizes a small sensor that measures glucose levels every five minutes. It captures real-time readings continuously and transmits this data to a compatible mobile device via Bluetooth®, ensuring users have timely access to their glucose levels.

The accompanying Guardian mobile app enhances user experience by providing detailed insights into sensor glucose trends and allowing for activity logging. A standout feature of the system is its predictive alerts, which notify users before their glucose levels become too high or too low. This customizable alert system allows notifications to be set for 10-60 minutes in advance, offering options to optimize alerts based on time of day or personal preference.

Additionally, when linked to Wi-Fi, the Guardian app can seamlessly upload data to the CareLink™ Personal diabetes management software. This feature not only provides personalized sensor glucose reports online but also enables sharing of this information with healthcare providers, family, or friends. Notably, designated contacts can receive notifications if the user’s glucose levels fall outside the desired range.

To utilize the Guardian 4 system, users require both the Guardian 4 transmitter and the Guardian 4 sensor, in conjunction with the mobile app. It is important to note that this system is suitable for individuals aged seven and older.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This app is compatible exclusively with the Guardian 4 transmitter, engineered specifically for communication with compatible mobile devices via Bluetooth. It will not function with other Medtronic CGM transmitters, such as the Guardian Connect and Guardian Link 3.

The Guardian 4 system is designed primarily for individuals using insulin injections.
